Flaps and Grafts

Flaps and grafts are plastic surgery techniques used to repair or replace damaged tissue in the body. This surgery involves taking healthy tissue from one area of the body and moving it to another area to restore function and improve appearance.

Flap surgery involves taking healthy tissue with its blood supply and moving it to an area of the body where tissue has been lost or damaged. This technique is often used for reconstructive surgery after cancer removal or injury. The tissue is moved to the new location and reconnected to the blood supply in the new area, allowing it to heal and grow.

Graft surgery involves taking healthy tissue from one area of the body and transplanting it to another area where tissue has been lost or damaged. This technique is often used for burn victims or patients with skin cancer. The tissue is harvested from the donor site and transplanted to the new area, where it will grow and heal.
